| The Trust, along with members of the Ipswich Branch of the Inland Waterways Association hold working parties every Wednesday throughout the year starting around 9.00 a.m. We also meet on the first Saturday of every month unless that happens to fall on a Bank Holiday weekend. We are currently working on the lock at Baylham Mill, Mill Lane, Baylham next door to the Rare Breeds Centre. Have a look at the Google Map for an exact location. If you would like to join us, just turn up on the day or phone Colin Turner on 01473 730586 for more details. We can even tell you what the weather will be like when you arrive. We hosted a very successful Waterways Recovery Group camp last year. Go to the WRG site to see some pictures. We had three camps this year. The first ran from the 11th to the 18th of July and the third from the 8th to the 15th of August. Both these week-long camps were run by WRG. The second camp was over the weekend 25/26th July run by London WRG. Read more about that group here.
A huge amount of work was completed during these camps, We removed all the old concrete from the invert and replaced it with new but this time at the correct level so it tied in with the remaining brick invert. We also started rebuilding the wall and laid concrete behind it to counterbalance the weight.
