The first Annual General Meeting of the Trust was held in Needham Market Community Centre on Thursday 8th May at 7.30pm.
We had more than 30 members join us for this first meeting of the Trust. Reports by the Chairman, Secretary and Membership Secretary were all presented and the Annual Accounts were adopted. A new Director/Trustee was elected and all the current Directors/Trustees were confirmed in their current posts.
Following the formal business of the evening there followed a general discussion about the Trust. This was a valuable opportunity to meet one or two riparian owners and some new members with skills that will prove invaluable to the future running of the Trust.
Spencer Greystrong then introduced the first showing of an audio-visual presentation about the history of the River Gipping and how we and the IWA are working together to restore it's historic structures. We received some valuable feedback from the audience which will be incorporated in the presentation next time round.
All in all a very successful meeting with more than 75% of the membership in attendance.
